Showjumping is held on the all-weather surface, with the warm up being on the same surface. Our courses are constructed using BSJA specification jumps and built by BSJA panel coursebuilders, to ensure that all related distances are measured and correct. We offer showjumping competitions for all ages and abilities, from 9" courses for the very beginner, to BSJA for the more experienced rider. The arena with a full BSJA course of fences can be hired on one of our showjumping schooling days.

Handy Hunter competitions will be held from December until February. This event is held on the all weather arena. The course is a mixture of cross country and rustic fences, along with simulated obstacles which might be encountered out hunting. The event is run as one timed round over a course of approximately 18 obstacles, and is designed to test and improve riders' skill and horsemanship
There will also be a league for this event - please see 'Leagues' page for more info.

At The Jays we hold both affiliated and unaffiliated dressage competitions. Both the warm up and test arena are on the same all-weather surface, and our dressage events are judged by British Dressage approved panel judges. Our dressage competitions cater for all levels from walk and trot tests through to BD Advanced Medium. We also offer dressage schooling days where riders can hire the arena to practice before a competition.

This event is over a course of approximately 8 showjumps and 8 rustic style XC jumps. It is run as one timed round, with seconds being added for poles knocked down. The courses are designed to be challenging and technical, to mimic the questions asked on a XC course. This event is an ideal training competition for combinations wishing to gain experience before negotiating a solid XC course. This event caters for all abilities - starting from 50cm through to 1.05m.
There will also be a league for this event during 2010 - see 'Leagues' page for more info.

The Jays Showing Shows are renowned for being professionally run. We provide a timetable giving every class a 'not before' time - ensuring that you will know what time you need to arrive. All rings are well maintained to guarantee perfect going throughout the year. The majority of ridden class will be held on the all-weather surface. Our working hunter courses are interesting and challenging (often available for hire before an event). We always use different judges from different judging panels for our events. The Jays hold qualifers for Amateur Showing Society, Royal London, Equifest, Marriages, Ex-Racers and Veteran Horse Society. Most of our showing shows include a fun ring with cheaper entries to encourage novices and juniors into the show ring, however all ages and abilities are welcome in all classes (as per class descriptions on the schedule). During the summer The Jays occasionally holds evening performances with classes for all.

Peter Pan events are designed for the novice or nervous rider, and include Showjumping, Arena Eventing, Eventer Trails and Fun Days. Our Peter Pan Fun Days include showjumping, clear round XC, showing classes, and gymkhana. These events are a great opportunity to introduce young or novice riders into a competition environment, with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, and are also a great way to make new friends.

This event consists of a course of showjumps on the all-weather arena, followed by a XC course either through the woods or in an enclosed field - Ideal to encourage nervous or novice riders into the sport. Heights start at 1' through to approximately 2'3", with plans for a higher and longer course in the future. Our current XC fences are mobile, allowing courses to be different for each event.

This event is held in the grass showjumping arena, using the all-weather arena as a warm up area. We hold both affiliated and unaffiliated Derby's annually. The grass area contains our derby bank, which has a number of different jumping options. We also have a devils dyke complex and an open ditch. The course consists of approximately 20 fences.

This is a new and unique event to be held for the first time in 2010. The fayre will consist of an equine carboot sale, equine trade stands, and the opportunity to view and purchase horses and ponies for sale.
This is not an auction - the idea is to bring buyers and sellers from across the country together in one place, allowing them to use our excellent facilities to show off their equines. Buyers and sellers can negotiate any sales, with no commission to be paid. NEW 2010 DATE TO BE CONFIRMED
